JAPANESE GREEN BELL PEPPERS

Kochi's small green peppers, called "piman", are mild and slightly sweet. Enjoy them raw or in a cooked dish.

KOCHI SPECIALS

The Japanese green bell pepper is a red bell pepper that is harvested before reaching full maturity. Japanese green bell peppers, known locally as "piman," are small, with thinner skin than standard bell peppers. They taste slightly sweet, with a mildly bitter aftertaste. The thin flesh makes it ideal for grilling, stuffing, and adding to stir fries. Kochi is one of Japan's top producers of Japanese green bell peppers. The peppers grow in fields and greenhouses year-round.
